The museum has been extreamly helpful in helding me find information about my 2nd great grandparents who lived in Lecompto during 1855 to 1860. My GGM is believed to have been born in Lecompton. As they were owners of a hotel, when the capital of the state was moved, they also moved to Denver.

Amazing variety of history both local and national in scale. Tour guide was endlessly interesting and enthusiastic to share insights and information about the history of the area and the items contained in the museum. Don't miss the maps!

Early Kansas history. A great experience.
